Meta is delaying its new flagship model
Meta’s flagship model, "Behemoth" has yet to be released. According to reports from WSJ, it was supposed to be released during Meta’s inaugural AI conference for developers. But that was slated, and it was decided to be pushed back to mid-June. Now it’s being pushed back again, this time all the way to fall. The workers share concerns over the direction of Meta’s multibillion-dollar AI investment. Engineers at Meta are failing to significantly improve the model to the point of it being release-worthy.
Behemoth
The delay has caused frustration among Meta’s senior leadership, with some calling for major changes within the team responsible for Llama 4. Internally, there's growing tension between the company’s bold public claims and the model’s actual performance in training. Behemoth has been touted as a rival to OpenAI and Google’s top models, but without clear progress, those ambitions are starting to look shaky.

Anthropic's legal team cites wrong information in court, using Claude

Anthropic’s lawyer was forced to apologize after its Claude AI model hallucinated a legal citation in an ongoing copyright lawsuit. According to a court filing made Thursday in Northern California, Claude generated a fake reference with “an inaccurate title and inaccurate authors.” The error slipped through a manual citation check conducted by Anthropic’s legal team. The company called it “an honest citation mistake and not a fabrication of authority.”
The case involves Anthropic’s legal battle with major music publishers, including Universal Music Group, who allege the company misused copyrighted material to train its AI models. Earlier this week, those publishers accused Anthropic’s expert witness, an employee named Olivia Chen, of relying on fake sources in her testimony, all generated by Claude. That prompted a federal judge to order a formal response.
